Venus in Furs from The Velvet Underground (Unripened) album

By now it’s a pretty famous story of how some guy found a one-of-a-kind acetate pressing of an early, 1966 version of what would become “The Velvet Underground and Nico” album on a New York City street for 75 cents, then sold it on eBay for 25 Grand. It’s known as “The Norman Dolph Acetate”, and you can read the whole story here. The acetate itself was of course very scratchy. This bootleg vinyl released a couple years ago, apparently from Sweden but who knows, offers a beautifully cleaned-up version of the acetate. But you should also go to WFMU’s blog and get the original, scratchy version. For comparison at least. Or history.

Made another track. It’s my second track from scratch but I still need a lot of getting used to my DAW. The first track I made was glitch-hop which turned out so bad I can’t even listen to it [x]. I titled this track as Dive since I can’t stop listening to Tycho’s Dive record. I was going for that idm minimal kind of thing. But it really doesn’t sound like anything from Dive.

pitchfork:

“Comeback Kid” is the latest riff-hungry track from Sleigh Bells’ forthcoming album Reign of Terror.

——

So far.. so good I guess. Their first release single few weeks back was.. okay. Vocals in this one is not as poppy as the songs from Treats and not as “riff-hungry”. Born To Lose was a bit better.

Can’t wait for the new album though.

The xx - “Open Eyes (Demo)”

New album this year! Finally!

(Source: afgham, via neidbau)

I really hate making top lists of whatever cause its really hard to decide what’s the best of something every year. This year was a great year for music (Im not even kidding), film and television on the other hand, not that good. I have not watched a single 2011 film this year Im serious they all suck donkey balls.
My top album releases this year was a surprise. Music I’d never thought of listening to. Take Liturgy’s Aesthetica for example. I mean what the fuck I hate metal but damn that shit is so good. I fucking hate RnB too but why the hell am I listening to The Weeknd (I remember when I listened to them on speakers and my sister heard it she was like, “omg is that Trey Songzzz??” I never listened to speakers ever again after that). And motherfucking dupstep! Why is James Blake so good?

I dont know why the hell Foster The People is in there. I just put it in there to fill up the space okay.
